Presented by The Fish 95.9 radio and Transparent Productions, Fishfest returned to Irvine, California to celebrate it’s 10th year! This year’s event was a complete sell-out with somewhere between 17 and 18,000 fans in attendance. With an impressive lineup including incredible artists like Third Day, MercyMe and more who better to open the main stage than the red-hot Jamie Grace!
Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, 19 year-old Jamie Grace has been all over Christian and positive radio. With a sound and style all her own, Jamie got the crowd started with a fantastic set. Displaying the confidence and poise of a well-seasoned artist she started off with a great medley of 9 TobyMac songs in 4 minutes. Jamie continued to build the excitement throughout her set which of course included her mega-hit Hold Me. With TobyMac nowhere to be found, Jamie filled in for his usual part in the release version by looping her own vocal tracks. The crowd could not have asked for a better opening on this hot June afternoon. If there was any flaw to be noted it was only that the show was too short. Come on back to the west coast Jamie!
Be sure to check out the video for Hold Me and all the latest news about Jamie on her official website: Jamie Grace
Here are a few photos from the show. Jamie’s short set and the fact that I had to work through some small credential snafus found me shooting from my seat in the stands. Expect a few more to be added later.
