The Afters and Hawk Nelson with special guest Dan Bremnes

This was only the second show of the  “Here For You” Tour and it was being held in a little Pennsylvania town known as Huntingdon. I love big festival and large production events but I also have a great time at these smaller and more intimate show like this one was. You almost always get a chance to meet the artists after the show. You can get an autograph or just say hello. I used to be a big radio listener but as of lately I haven’t been tuning in due to various reasons. So I haven’t been catching some of these new up and coming artists and I honestly miss that.

One of those artist is Capitol Christian / Sparrow records artist Dan Bremnes. The one song that really stood out for me tonight was his song “Beautiful”. If you are like me and haven’t heard this gentleman yet be sure to check him out. Next to take the stage was Hawk Nelson. With the change in lead vocals came a change in their sound.  With Jonathan Steingard stepping up from backup vocals to lead there is a little less punk rawness and a little more pop in the new sound. That being the case, Steingards vocals are perfect for their new sound. One cool thing at tonights show is that we were able to get a sampling of  a few songs off their new album “Diamonds” which hits stores on March 17th. You can get a copy of your own early if you hit one of their shows before then.

Closing out the evening was the venerable The Afters. The last time I had a chance to see these guys was back in early 2012 right after the release of their single “Life is Beautiful”. Since then they’ve released the full album and even had 1 song, “Moments Like This” featured in an NBC campaign.  Their performance was beautiful as expected. Pun intended. If this tour comes anywhere near you, be sure to catch the show. It is well worth the reasonable price for any Christian music fan. Check out out photos from the show.
